Q: What fish species can we catch?
A: We mostly fish for perch, pike, trout, herring and salmon. But it's also possible to catch whitefish, bream, orfe, roach, flounders and sculpins.
Q: Can we fish for sander?
A: There are sanders in the waters around Eckerö, but they are so few and far between that it's pointless to fish for them.
Q: Can we fish for cod?
A: Due to the state of the cod population in the Baltic sea we do not fish for cod.
Q: Do I need my own rods and lures?
A: No, we will provide all the gear required.
Q: Can I use my own fishing gear?
A: Of course.
Q: Do I need fishing experience?
A: No, beginners are welcome. We can adapt the fishing methods to your skill level and we will teach you what you need to know.
Q: When can I fish for what?
A: The best time for the more popular species are:
Perch: June - August
Pike: mid March - 14 April and October-mid November
Trout: April - May
Salmon: May - June
Q: May I bring and consume alcohol?
A: Yes, as long as you do not get so drunk it becomes a safety issue.
Q: Can I smoke in the boat?
A: Yes as long as you can ensure nu cigarette buts end up in nature.
Q: Can I bring home fish?
A: Yes, but with some restrictions.
All fishes must be above the minimum size for species that have one.
Perch over 500g and pike over 1 meter must be returned.
Only one salmon or trout may be kept per tour.
Note that by law you are not allowed to sell your catch and that any fish you kill must be used for something.
Q: Can you arrange trips for people in wheelchairs?
A: Yes, we have access to a boat that is wheelchair accessible, send us an E-mail and we can arrange it for you.
Q: How often do you find seals?
A: On pretty much every seal spotting trip and occasionally on other tour.
Q: Will we see eagles?
A: We see eagles on a very regular basis, but there are no guarantees..
Q: Do I need to be fit for one of your tours?
A: No, the hiking is easy and can be adapted to your abilities.
Q: Can you arrange trips for people in wheelchairs?
A: Yes, we have access to a boat that is wheelchair accessible, send us an E-mail and we can arrange it for you.
Q: What island will we go to?
A: There is a large number of different possible islands we may go to depending on weather, which tour we are doing and your wishes.
Q: May I bring and consume alcohol?
A: Yes, as long as you do not get so drunk it becomes a safety issue.

A: Yes as long as you can ensure nu cigarette buts or hot embers end up in nature.
Q: What's the easiest way to get to Åland?
A: If you are traveling from outside Finland the best way is flying to Arlanda then either renting a car and driving to the ferry or taking a train to either Stockholm or Uppsala and take the bus to the ferry from there. Eckerölinjen is our recommended ferry from Sweden.
If you come from Finland there are ferries from Turku and Helsinki that goes directly to the main island as well as several smaller archipelago ferries that goes between the archipelago region between Åland and mainland Finland.
Q: Can you fly to Åland?
A: Yes, but the flights are few, small and quite expensive. It's generally better to fly to Arlanda and then go here by ferry.
Q: Do I need a passport to go to Åland?
A: Typically not, anyone living in the EU/EES may travel to Åland with just an ID.
Q: Do I need a visa to travel to Åland?
A: Not as long as you are traveling within the schengen area.
Q: What language is spoken on Åland?
A: Åland is entirely Swedish speaking, but most people speak very good English as well and quite a lot of people speak Finnish as well.
Q: What currency is used on Åland?
A: Euro (€)
Q: Do I need to bring cash
A: No, pretty much everyone accepts card payments here.
Q: What kind of boat do you have?
A: We have a 5,2m specially constructed center console boat based on a Beason 520CC with a 115Hp Suzuki outboard engine. We also have access to an Alucat W14 DC with a 200hk Yamaha outboard engine.
Q: Can you pick us up?
A: Yes, we can do pickups for up to 6 people on all of the main islands by car.
Q: Where do you start from?
A: We usually keep the boat close to the Käringsund area, but we may occasionally keep our boat on other spots around Eckerö.
Q: Can you provide accommodation?
A: Yes we can arrange packages with both accommodation and guided tours.
